Core Features
The chat is your central workspace for AI on the Evoya platform – similar to ChatGPT or Copilot, but directly connected to your agents and data. Here you handle spontaneous tasks as well as structured workflows: create texts and images, analyze documents, research, or dictate content.
This page explains all base features of the chat – what you can do and where to find what.
Structure of the chat
The chat consists of five areas:
- Chat view – shows the ongoing conversation with all inputs, responses, and generated content
- Chat input field – central place for your entries and actions
- Header bar – controls for sessions, favorites, and sharing
- Sidebar – chat history and favorites
- Agent selection – shows the active agent and lets you switch

Generate texts, images, and documents
In the chat input field you enter your requests. The AI processes them according to the configuration of the active agent – in particular the AI model used and the location of data processing.

The following entries and generations are possible:
- Create and edit texts – write articles, emails, reports, or revise and optimize existing texts
- Generate and analyze images – create graphics based on descriptions or analyze existing images (images only if enabled for the respective agent)
- Work with documents – upload PDFs, Word files, or other documents to summarize, extract, or analyze content
- Research on the internet – the AI can retrieve current information from the web and include it
All inputs are sent to the AI and subsequently displayed in the chat view.
Dictation (Speech-to-Text)
In addition to text entry, you can dictate content directly. Via the microphone icon in the chat input field you start voice input; your spoken words are converted to text and passed to the AI. This is especially useful when you want to formulate quickly and freely without typing.
Upload documents
Via the upload icon in the chat input field you load files directly into the chat. The platform supports common formats such as Microsoft files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), text files, and Markdown. Uploaded documents can be read, summarized, analyzed, or used as a basis for further tasks by the AI.
Generated files from chats – such as images, Word documents, or presentations – are stored by default in your private area of the file storage. If a project is selected in the chat, the files are saved in the corresponding project folder instead.
Address and select agents
In the side area of the chat you see which agent is currently active. You can switch between different agents and work with specialized agents depending on the task.

The selected agent influences:
- the AI behavior
- the available features
- the data processing location
Where your data is processed (CH, EU, or US) can be seen in the agent overview in the side menu under Agents, directly on the respective agent card.

Details on agents and their configuration can be found in the Agents section.
Slash commands
Slash commands are shortcuts that you start with a forward slash (/) in the chat input field. They offer quick access to frequently used actions without navigating through long menus. Type / and a list of available commands appears. Select the appropriate one to trigger the corresponding function directly.
Start new chats
Via the header bar you can start a new chat session at any time. This begins a fresh conversation without the context of the previous session.

The following functions are available in the header:
- Start new session
- Show or hide chat history
- Mark chat as favorite
- Share chat (create link)
Favorites and chat history
The chat history is located in the sidebar and is divided into two tabs:
- History – all chat sessions
- Favorites – only marked sessions

Each session shows a title and a short, automatically generated summary. Mark important chats as a favorite to find them faster. Via the three-dot menu you can edit the title and description or delete an entire chat session.
Share chat
Via the share function in the header you create a link to a chat. This lets you share conversation histories or results with other people without leaving the platform interface.
Configuration icon
The configuration icon in the chat input field (bottom left) opens access to further features and settings. Here you find advanced options that go beyond pure text entry – such as access to the Prompt Library, the Creator, Privacy Shield, or project-related functions. Which items are exactly visible depends on your role and the active agent.
